Gareth with his expedition partner Richard have just got back from Iceland.

They spent three weeks drawing a line from south to north, ski touring over glaciers, detouring around sub glacial volcanos, and pack rafting down ‘The River of the Trembling Spirit’.

They found the never-seen-before source of the river, got to swim with seals and were eternally chased down by malevolent weather. Wild, windy and wet? Yes.

The Iceland traverse is what contemporary exploration is all about. Come and hear the tales of this trip, how they overcame fear and obstacles to achieve their expedition goal.

Gareth hears the siren call of the cold and answers. He kayaks, ski tours, climbs and runs through remote frozen landscapes, on the hunt for the chillest spot in the world to brew a tea. Gareth has big goals to pave new exploration paths across the globe. He  works as an Anaesthesiologist and loves adventuring every day in Sydney with his wife and daughter.

The Adventurers Club. It’s not just swilling whisky and sitting in leather Chesterfeilds. It’s sharing experiences. Experiences of those kick arse amazing members who train at Joe’s and are getting out there and amongst it. We continue to foster a culture of sharing adventures, members being examplers of lives well lived and connecting our local communities by hosting our Adventurers Club since 2015.
